TB-Beads are an inexpensive way to concentrate mycobacteria directly from sputum in less than 5 min with a similar efficiency to centrifugation. The concentrated mycobacteria can be used for microscopy (auramine or ZN), culture or amplification.

New The TB-Beads have been used as a front end to our ELISA (see our November Newsletter) and are being developed into a front-end extraction for our Point-of-Care device.
