The Seprion ligand is used to capture the abnormal conformer of the prion protein (PrPCJD) in brain and lymphoid tissues from individuals affected by CJD which is then detected with a specific antibody. The kit is designed to rapidly identify samples containing disease-associated PrPCJD with minimal sample handling, and can be automated for high throughput applications.
