Microsens has acquired staff and facilities in South Africa. A presence for the company in a high TB burden country such as this will facilitate the development of new and exciting products and enable closer links to be forged with the end-users.

June 2010

Microsens has been awarded a TSB grant for the development of point of care TB diagnostics. The ability of TB-Beads to rapidly and easily concentrate TB from sputum is an exciting front-end to microscopy, culture and PCR but also lends itself to simple point of care applications.

July 2010

Microsens has had a publication accepted in a leading journal on the TB-Beads technology. As more evaluations are completed this can only be the first of many.

2009 was a busy year. Among other things, Microsens acquired the rights for distribution of the lumin - a simple LED-based light source that can adapt most microscopes to fluorescence.
